The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Federal polytechnic Ede Chapter has appealed to the management of the school to ensure that the delay in salaries as it was experienced last November 2021 do not repeat itself.

Even as the union directed its members to resume to duties from 4th January, 2022.

It assured that the academic staff would be more committed and put in their best, to their duties in 2022 in a favourable environment.

These was part of the resolutions reached at the union’s meeting on Wednesday.

Recall that the academic staff in the institution had earlier kicked at the non-payment of salaries to its members following the “lock-out” of some Ministries, Departments and Agencies MDAs by the Federal government; a development which affected the school.

Consequently, the staff confirmed the payment of salaries to its members after the Federal government disbursed salaries for the locked-out Ministries, Departments and Agencies MDAs.

Satisfied by the development, the staff resolved that academic work should continue unabated.

The academic staff however, charged the Management to be up and doing in their own responsibilities by attending to all long overdue promises such as: Invigilation claims last semester, Project Supervision last session 2019/2020, PT claim for the concluded First semester 2020/2021, the arrears of Earned Allowance and arrears of CONTISS 15.

The union said that as much as the welfare of its members is well taken care of, there won’t be need for any struggle.
