The start to the season just got worst for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal as they’ve just lost their third game on the bounce, leaving the London side 20th on the log with nine goals conceded.

Manchester City, on the other hand, has moved to the summit of the table after extending their unbeaten Premier League run against Arsenal to twelve matches with a resounding 5-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium.

It was going to get messy for Arsenal having conceded the first goal in the seventh minute courtesy of an Ilkay Gundogan’s header while Ferran Torres doubled the tally after five minutes, beating Bernd Leno to his right with a left-footed finish.

This was the earliest Arsenal have conceded twice from the start of a Premier League match since December 2017 against Manchester United (after eleven minutes).

The game got more complicated for Arteta and his boys when Granit Xhaka was dismissed for a ferocious challenge on Joao Cancelo – Gabriel Jesus finished from Jack Grealish’s cross to add the third goal ten minutes before half-time.

There came the second half, City’s dominance got heightened, and were rewarded with Rodri’s 25-yards sleek finish to make it four in the 53 minutes before Torres headed in substitute Riyad Mahrez’s cross to complete the scoring six minutes from time.

The win has catapulted City to a six points lead at the top of with ten goals scored already. They’re trailed by West Ham who take on Crystal Palace later this afternoon, on goal difference.
