Former Nigerian forward, Victor Ikpeba has revealed that he was delighted the Super Eagles responded positively against the Central Africa Republic (CAR) in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Douala.
The Eagles avenged the shock defeat suffered against CAR on Thursday with a 2-0 win in Douala.
Leon Balogun and Victor Osimhen got the Eagles’ goals to seal a 2-0 win.The win took the Eagles to nine points and maintain leadership in Group C.
Reacting to the team’s performance, the former Monaco striker told Monday Night Football Programme on Supersports that the team lost the reverse fixture due to individual football play from the players.
“I am happy the players reacted positively by beating Central Africa Republic (CAR). I really don’t think we played as a team in the reverse fixture as the players played individual players.
