The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Federal polytechnic Ede Chapter (ASUP) has confirmed the payment of salaries to its members.

REPUBLICAN NIGERIA had earlier reported that the Federal government during the week commenced process to pay the outstanding salaries to the locked-out Ministries, Departments and Agencies MDAs.
It was also reported that the academic staff in Federal Polytechnic Ede had decried the non-payment of salaries and called for a succour and some other demands over the delayed salaries before the 4th of January, 2022, a development which has elicited fear of potential industrial action in the institution.
Meanwhile, speaking on the recent development, the ASUP chairman, Federal Polytechnic Ede chapter told REPUBLICAN correspondent that “Our members have started receiving alerts of payment of November salaries. We are now awaiting payment of December also, in view of the facts, some Polytechnics have received December salaries’ payment some days back.”
Asked what will be the next action, Barr Azeez said “One part has been settled, the other part, we are hopeful will equally be treated before the date.”
He however, said ASUP will likely decide the next action at the congress.
