Robert Lewandowski Sets New Bayern Munich Goals Record


Bayern forward, Robert Lewandowski has set a new goalscoring record for Bayern Munich in consecutive matches; breaking a record set by the late Gerd Müller.

For the sixteenth consecutive match, Lewandowski has scored for the Bavarians in all with the recent one in Bayern’s meeting with Hertha Berlin on Bundesliga Matchday 3.

Lewandowski’s incredible goalscoring streak dates back to 15 February 2021, when he helped Bayern draw 3-3 with Arminia Bielefeld.

Gerd Müller, who passed away recently on (15 August 2021), aged 75, enjoyed a stellar  15-game scoring run between 1969 and 1970.

The 33-year-old Poland striker has scored 26 times during his record-breaking run in front of goal, whilst his overall tally in a Bayern shirt reads an eye-watering 301 goals in 333 competitive matches; as well as scoring at least once in 13 Bundesliga appearances in a row – a personal record
